Internal redesign and rebranding project for FOX61 Lobby, hallways and walls.

This project was an exciting and educational opportunity for me. The goal was to bring the interior of our company to life and provide an atmosphere for all to enjoy. My role included designing mockups and framing posters to working with engineers and electricians to effectively execute our ideas for a unique space. It was rewarding to hear positive feedback from fellow employees, clients and guests.

Main FOX61 lobby and conference area BEFORE the redesign:

The goal was to bring life to our main lobby and conference area and effectively promote our FOX61 News \ FOX Entertainment & WCCT-TV Home of the CW Network duopoly.

The Plan: A color scheme that spoke the FOX61 & WCCT-TV brands; a display of our branding; installation of vertical 4K monitors in the large lower windows of the main conference room; monitors set to air on FOX61 & WCCT-TV in the smaller upper windows of the conference room; and posters promoting primetime entertainment from FOX & The CW.

Main FOX61 Lobby REDESIGN EXECUTION: The walls beside the conference room entrance were covered in red vinyl. The branding above is also vinyl as well. The monitors placed in the windows were framed with custom metal work and attached to an accordion style mount so they could be pulled out of the windows with ease.

Main FOX61 Lobby AFTER the redesign:

Final result and additions: Directional lights were installed to illuminate our branding; an additional monitor was placed on the green wall displaying company updates and happenings; the green walls display framed posters promoting CW entertainment. The seating area to the far left hosts a monitor displaying video composites with varying content and is also used as a logo\brand display, welcoming clients meeting in the conference area.

The monitor on the green wall in the main lobby entrance is one of two monitors that displays content in partnership with HR varying from welcoming new hires and employee recognition to volunteer opportunities, need to know information and events. I am responsible for updating the content on these monitors regularly.

Pathway to the Newsroom (from the lobby) Before redesign:

Pathway to the Newsroom AFTER the redesign:

Directional labels are placed above the doorway leading to the newsroom from the main lobby. Posters are framed and prepped for hanging.

A FOX61 mural featuring the Hartford skyline dresses up a once baron wall on the pathway to the newsroom.

Plan & Execution: A branded vinyl step-and-repeat was used to dress up a plain wall and serve as a backdrop for three vertical monitors displaying our talent and station information. Our mission statement was also placed on an adjacent wall.

Final Result: Three 4K monitors displaying our talent and station info updated regularly as part of the pathway to the newsroom. The images continuously cycle on 4K Roku players in slideshow mode.

Examples of content displayed on these monitors:

The trophy and awards case (currently a work in progress) was dressed up with blue crushed velvet and red and blue lights. LED lighting is a future possibility to illuminate the awards.
